On January 19, 2011, Mayor Vincent C. Gray of Washington D.C., the United States Capital, officially designated January 19, 2011 as H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Day, calling on everyone to salute H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. It was the first and only time that a Buddha Day was designated by a government.

Respectfully honoring H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Day, the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum will hold a Life Release Event to Pray for Blessings. All merit will be dedicated to living beings: Wishing that all living beings be joyful, be free from suffering, and have opportunities to listen to true Dharma. Wishing that all adversities be eliminated, all living beings attain perfect good fortune and wisdom, everyone lives a good life, all countries flourish, and the world be peaceful.
